Join Chef Amado from Casa Amado to make traditional Mexican tamales!
Tamales are traditionally a celebratory food, usually made communally. A tamale, in Spanish tamal, is a traditional Mesoamerican dish made of masa, a dough made from nixtamalized corn, which is steamed in a corn husk or banana leaves. The wrapping can either be discarded prior to eating or used as a plate. We’re looking forward to having Chef Amado back to the library for this delicious program.
Sponsored by the Friends of Berkley Public Library.
